GizmoGO! is a 2D/live-action hybrid, spun off of CBN's

long-running Superbook franchise.

When CBN first expressed interest in a preschool series back in 2015, my very first thought was to create a new series starring Gizmo, surrounding him with a colorful cast of new robot characters. The initial pitch was developed with my friend and fellow Superbook colleague, David Cunningham.

In early 2019, I was asked to retool the concept, this time including a new, a live-action human host to be played by Tina Mascaro. That spring, we completed an eight minute pilot, and the show was picked up as a full, half-hour series the following year.

GizmoGO! presented an interesting demographic challenge, in that it was intended for a younger audience than Superbook, but still needed to appeal to the same subscribers. The result was a unique, all-ages blend, with easily digestible lessons for the little ones, and just enough comedy and world-building to engage their older siblings and parents.

One of my primary goals was to honor the rich, worldwide legacy of Superbook, blending elements  from its entire 40 year history into a fun new canon for fans of every era.
